Lange Logistics is currently looking for a Logistics Specialist to join our Team.
The Logistics Specialist plays an essential role in ensuring the seamless execution of day-to-day operations within the logistics department. In this position, you will be responsible for managing the company’s Transportation Management System (TMS), building and scheduling loads, tracking shipments, maintaining carrier coverage, and overseeing Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) processes. Additionally, you will handle spot quoting, update service level scorecards, and proactively address operational challenges to ensure timely, cost-effective, and efficient delivery of goods.

Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the company’s Transportation Management System (TMS) for load creation, tracking, and reporting.
- Coordinate and build load schedules, ensuring alignment with delivery timelines and client expectations.
- Monitor and trace shipments to ensure on-time delivery and resolve delays promptly.
- Secure appropriate carrier capacity for all shipments and maintain strong relationships with carrier partners.
- Oversee EDI processes to ensure accurate and timely data exchange between systems.
- Provide competitive spot quotes for shipments and negotiate with carriers for the best rates and service levels.
- Maintain and update service-level scorecards to evaluate carrier and operational performance.
- Manage day-to-day logistics tasks, ensuring efficiency in processes and adherence to company standards.
- Identify and resolve operational challenges, escalating issues as necessary to ensure smooth operations.
- Work closely with internal teams and external partners to align logistics operations with overall business goals.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field, OR equivalent work experience in logistics or transportation.
- 2+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain operations.
- Proficiency in Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and EDI processes.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Experience in freight brokerage, third-party logistics (3PL), or carrier management.
- Knowledge of freight rates, spot quoting, and carrier negotiations.
- Familiarity with logistics scorecards and performance metrics.
- Strong understanding of shipment tracking tools and technologies.
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with carriers and vendors.
